Shrink wrap, also known as shrink film, is a transparent plastic sheeting that tightly conforms to products when exposed to heat. It’s commonly used with shrink wrap machines for secure packaging and protection. A precisely cut piece of this transparent film is wrapped around an item, and when passed through the heat tunnel of a shrink wrap machine, it shrinks and forms a tight, protective seal around the product after cooling. The unique characteristic of shrink wrap lies in its ability to contract significantly when heated, reacting sensitively to temperature increases. This film typically begins to shrink and change form within a temperature range of 160 to 220 degrees Celsius (320 to 428 degrees Fahrenheit).
